Exail Unmanned Surface Vessels Slated for U.S. Navy and Coast Guard Evaluations

By ASR Newsdesk ·

Exail's unmanned surface vessels (USVs) are scheduled for upcoming test and evaluation campaigns in the United States. The U.S. Navy will utilize a DriX H-9 USV as a testbed for a counter-drone system, while the U.S. Coast Guard will evaluate an Oryx O-16 USV. These evaluations build on Exail's previous work with U.S. naval forces in the Middle East and Caribbean. The Oryx series, recently revealed by Exail, is designed for long-duration operations, persistent surveillance, and anti-submarine warfare, aiming to address sensor gaps for naval forces operating in large maritime areas or high-intensity conflict zones.

Why it matters

The U.S. Navy is investing in systems to counter unmanned threats and enhance maritime domain awareness, with USVs seen as a key tool.
