French Navy Tests Naval Group's Rampart CIWS System at Sea During Counter-Drone Exercise
During the WILDFIRE 26.2 counter-drone exercise off Toulon, the French Navy conducted its first at-sea trials of Naval Group's modular Rampart close-in weapon system (CIWS) aboard a Mistral-class LHD. The system, designed for modularity, successfully launched 68mm unguided and guided rockets from Thales against surface and drone targets. Future trials are planned internationally, including in the UAE and Belgium, to further develop the system's capabilities against evolving threats.

The Rampart system offers a flexible, rapidly deployable defense layer for naval fleets against asymmetric drone threats.
