By ASR Newsdesk ·

Germany-based Helsing has introduced the Contra air-defense system, featuring two new interceptor missiles, AD-1 "Inferno" and AD-2 "Ambush," along with AI software for drone interception. Designed to counter fast-flying drones like Russia's Geran series, the system aims to provide a cost-effective solution with per-shot costs under $100,000. The Inferno missile operates at 700 km/h, while the Ambush can exceed Mach 2. The system is currently in testing and is slated for market readiness in the latter half of 2027, with one contract already signed.
