Ørsted and Skyports have concluded a four-week trial utilizing heavy cargo drones for maintenance tasks at the Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm in the North Sea. The trial involved delivering maintenance kits weighing up to 65 kilograms between a service vessel and turbine tops. Notably, the operation included the first Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) delivery within the wind farm.
