Generative Bionics to Launch Physical AI Data Factory in Italy by Q4 2027
Generative Bionics plans to establish a "Physical AI Data Factory" in Italy, a 5,000-sq.-m facility intended to be one of Europe's largest physical AI training sites for humanoid robots. The company aims to transition humanoid robotics from lab settings to industrial applications and bolster European sovereignty in AI data and model development. The facility, powered by AMD Helios, is scheduled to be operational by the fourth quarter of 2027, with plans for additional sites in Europe and globally. It will integrate real-world robot operations with simulation to generate and validate physical AI models for its GENE.01 humanoid robot.
Why it matters
The facility aims to advance European humanoid sovereignty by keeping AI data, models, and know-how on the continent.
