Saab, FMV, and Swedish Armed Forces Launch Large Uncrewed Underwater Vehicle Demonstrator
Saab, in collaboration with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and the Swedish Armed Forces, has developed and launched a demonstrator for a Large Uncrewed Underwater Vehicle (LUUV). The project progressed from concept to a functional vehicle in less than a year following contract award, with initial sea trials completed. Future phases will focus on advanced capabilities, software, sensors, and autonomous functions. The LUUV is designed to support future underwater capabilities and operate alongside naval platforms, utilizing Saab's Autonomous Ocean Core system.
