Pentagon Seeks Drone Pilots Across Services for Drone Dominance Competition
The Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) is seeking approximately 100 service members with first-person-view (FPV) drone piloting experience for the upcoming Gauntlet III phase of the Pentagon's Drone Dominance program. This initiative aims to bolster the domestic drone industry by identifying and stockpiling high-performing small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) for military use. DIU is looking for a broad range of skills beyond just flying ability, including tactical knowledge and payload experience, to build a standing registry of drone operators across all military branches.
Why it matters
The program seeks to rapidly expand the domestic drone industry and build military stockpiles of best-performing systems.
