Naval Group Awarded Contract for French Navy's Unmanned Combat Underwater Vehicle Demonstrator

Naval Group has secured a contract to construct an operational demonstrator of its Unmanned Combat Underwater Vehicle (UCUV) for the French Navy. The agreement, finalized during Euronaval 2026, transitions the program from technology development to building a functional prototype. Sea trials are slated for 2028. This UCUV is designed for intelligence gathering, as well as defensive and offensive operations, and will feature an open architecture for integrating third-party equipment. It will be transportable by air and deployable from various platforms.
